SIMMPLY ACTIVE

Making Movement Simple & Accessible for Everyone

Simmply Active delivers inclusive community fitness activities that help people become more active, improve wellbeing, and connect with their local community.

Our accessible physical activity programmes support people of different ages and abilities, helping to reduce barriers such as cost, low confidence, social isolation, and limited opportunities to get involved.

From community sports and fitness sessions to tennis and recreational activities, we create welcoming environments where people can enjoy movement, build confidence, and take positive steps towards healthier lifestyles.

Our sessions are welcoming, beginner-friendly, and designed for different abilities and fitness levels.

Through accessible and enjoyable activities, we help people:

  • Improve physical health and fitness

  • Boost confidence and mental wellbeing

  • Reduce isolation through social connection

  • Build healthy and active routines

We believe physical activity can also be a powerful way to engage young people and create positive opportunities. Through our wider work, including Simmply Project UK, sport and positive activities are used alongside mentoring and early intervention to support vulnerable and at-risk young people.

Free Tennis in Colchester

The LTA Barclays Big Tennis Weekend at Leisure World Colchester successfully launched a new series of free weekend tennis sessions as part of our community sports programmes.

Around 40 residents of different ages joined the first session, demonstrating the demand for accessible and inclusive opportunities to get active within the local community.

Councillor Martin Goss, Portfolio Holder for Waste, Neighbourhoods and Leisure, said:

The successful kick-off proves there is a real appetite for accessible, healthy activities in Colchester. We are proud to work with LTA Barclays to offer these free tennis sessions, and I encourage every resident to take advantage of this fantastic opportunity to get active.

The free sessions continue every Saturday morning, giving local residents the opportunity to stay active, try tennis, and enjoy sport with friends and family.

It was game, set, and match for smiles and energy as children picked up rackets and hit the courts in style!

This winning initiative is proudly supported by SEYSHA, the LTA (Lawn Tennis Association), and Harlow Council, and it’s set to continue every Saturday from 10am to 11am.
