SIMMPLY ACTIVE
Making Movement Simple and Accessible for Everyone
Simmply Active is committed to supporting individuals in the community who are physically inactive by offering simple, accessible sports and physical activities tailored to their needs. Many people face barriers to physical activity, such as financial constraints, lack of confidence, or limited opportunities, which can lead to a sedentary lifestyle. This inactivity often contributes to poor physical health, low energy levels, mental health challenges like stress and anxiety, and a diminished sense of community connection.
Our programs are designed to break down these barriers and provide inclusive, welcoming activities for all. From walking groups and light fitness classes to recreational sports, Simmply Active ensures that everyone—regardless of age, ability, or experience—has the opportunity to get moving.
By participating in our programs, individuals can improve their physical health, boost their mood, and connect with others in their community. Simmply Active empowers people to take small, manageable steps towards a more active lifestyle, fostering a sense of achievement and belonging that positively impacts their overall well-being.

COLCHESTER LAUNCH
Successful launch of Free Tennis Weekend in Colchester
The launch of the LTA Barclays Big Tennis Weekend at Leisure World Colchester on
1 November was a huge success, officially kicking off the new series of free
weekend tennis sessions.
The first event saw a brilliant turnout, with around 40 residents of all ages getting
involved and enjoying a fantastic one-hour free tennis session. The atmosphere was
energetic and welcoming, proving that tennis truly is a sport for everyone.
Councillor Martin Goss, Portfolio Holder for Waste, Neighbourhoods and
Leisure, said: “The successful kick-off proves there is a real appetite for accessible,
healthy activities in Colchester. We are proud to work with LTA Barclays to offer
these free tennis sessions, and I encourage every resident to take advantage of this
fantastic opportunity to get active.”
The national campaign is now running every Saturday morning, offering a brilliant
chance for the community to get active, try tennis, and have a great time with friends
and family.
